I love this! It reminds me of some of the larger shawls on Folk Shawls (that I particularly liked), but the edging makes it more delicate - it's beautiful.

In the Stitch n Bitch book, there's a sewing pattern for a circular needle holder. It's basically a long strip of fabric with slots to thread the needles through.

Augh, misplacing needles is so frustrating.

I keep mine (other than the Options, which have their own binder) in a clear plastic three-drawered storage container--sure, they're all just thrown in there, but they fit nicely and it keeps them in one place.

That's a beautiful sock Karen!

So did you load up with Serendipity's closing?

You won't actually have to go all the way to Toronto. Sue at the Knitting habit will order in some things that Serendipity used to carry. The other store that's a lot closer is in Ancaster. The http://www.needleemporium.com/
is a GREAT store, and Julie is very helpful. She carries most of the hot sock yarns that I've heard about on Lime and Violet, and Noro and Malabrigo, etc.

If you are starting a knitting group at a cafe, let me know!

Kay - Same here, except with my it's my ample tum and my ample hips, and... (And blogger, it really does help if you send me notifications.)

Marly--I know! Maybe it's just that your feet are a "perfect" size (ie. perfectly matching the dimentions of a size)? Though I think for me it's the forgiving-ness of ribbing that does it with socks, as shoe shopping is just as fun as clothes shopping for me.

Also on a rather creepy note? I just found your podcast this morning, as I thought "hey, I should check for new knitting podcasts. Haven't done that in a while." However, I found it *before* you left this comment! *cue X-Files music*

And eek, I really haven't updated this in a while. Must get on that later today!

Preach on sister! I totally know what you mean about being plus size and not knitting a sweater yet. I am in the same boat so I too keep knitting socks. Isn't that funny how our minds work.

For me it is kind of like going shopping for jeans. Hardly ever find a pair that fit but when I go to the shoe department...hallelujah...all the shoes fit! Same thing with knitted socks. Did that make any sense?

Marly
knitthing.mypodcast.com

Blargh, that's why I rarely knit sweaters, too (although I have one OTN now)... it's so much more work to knit to fit my ample arse-end.

Thanks for the comment, Fiona!

I don't know what it is with Blogger, I think sometimes it forgets to take its medication. ;) I was looking at your blog and noticed that you've had problems with the the photo-adding feature; that one is always messing around on me. Sometimes it'll put the photos in for me, sometimes it won't. Needless to say, I think any future problems can be put squarely on Blogger's shoulders, and not our computers.

The whole replying-to-comments thing is also apparently still stumping me. Huh.

Your library knitting group sounds like it's going really well. On another note, I was having major Blogger problems at the same time as you but, being a technophobe, I assumed it was just MY computer. Thanks for showing me it was affecting more than just me. :-)
